Foaling News The number of horses and grandchildren continue to grow at Ranger Creek Farms. The arrival of Charley brings the number of grandsons to 4 and this year's 11 foals brings the herd of horses to about 60.
|
While all the grandchildren continue to be boys, thank goodness the foal crop included 6 fillies along with the 5 colts. This year, the two older grandsons were big enough to help out with registration photos. |

| Foaling season is always full of surprises. I guess all the rain last year must
have brought out the Buckskin and blue eye genes. It also must make absolutely
wonderful foals. It is going to be
really hard to pick the show horses for next year. This year we made sure that we took the time to get photos
of all the foals. What a lineup!!

Brilliant Buckeroo gave us Boomin, a buckskin pinto colt and Dallas, a buckskin colt. Sweet Success, our Patton son and one of our Patton daughters teamed up to produce a beautiful bay filly, we call Tessa. VCR had a very nice crop of foals, 3 fillies, Heart Breaker, Crissy and Special along with 2 awesome colts, Starbuck and Brownie. Three of his mares were show girls so we have to give some credit to his ladies. This year we had 3 foals from 2 new stallions Alvadars Double Whammy and Lucky Four Rebels Regency. They are a nice group of pintos. Two pinto fillies and a black, minimal pinto colt with white socks, named Boy Named Sue. Photos and info on all this years foals can be seen on the Junior Horses page of the web site.

| Travel News Thanks to some really great horse friends who take care of the farm when we are out of town, we decided to do some traveling this year. |

| We had a wonderful trip to Germany to visit Sylvia & Herbert Moll-Niesel who bought Buck (Ranger Creek Buckeroos Dark Dusty) during last years World Show. We really enjoyed visiting the Spirit of Moonlight farm and would never have made our first trip to Europe without our wonderful miniature horse friends, Sylvia & Herbert. |

This year's shows included the Bluebonnet at Katy, the Ultimate Event in Lufkin, the Red River Shoot Out in Wichita Falls and the SAAMHC show here in San Antonio. The show string all did well, contributing significantly to 1st place, Grand & Reserve ribbon collection. Even with only 4 shows this year, Misty, Dynomite and Valentino are all on the Honor Roll. We started the show season in Katy with 7 horses. While Mark likes a challenge, Suzy is very relieved that 3 of the show horses have sold and moved to new homes which leaves us with a more reasonable number of 4 horses to bring to the World Show. But since that would be a little too easy, we will probably add a couple of weanlings to the group, just to keep things exciting. We are looking forward to seeing all our friends at the World Show. Come and visit us in beautiful Boerne Texas or if you are at the World Show, look for us in the North end of the Burnett Building. |
